Vin Scully Calls Sandy Koufax’s Perfect Game

On this date in 1965 Sandy Koufax threw a perfect game and the call by Vin Scully is often referred to as the best regarding such a situation.

With our minds trying to figure out a way to appropriately write about the 10-year anniversary of 9/11, there just seems something so simple, so correct, about showcasing baseball’s best broadcaster in his description of one of baseball’s best pitchers on a night he was perfect.

This game was voted as the greatest game ever pitched by the American Society for Baseball Research because the Cubs’ Bob Hendley allowed just one hit in the 1-0 Dodgers’ win.
